Guidelines For Author’s
About the journal:
Vittals Medicare Journal of Case Reports(VMJCR) is an initiative taken by Vittals Medicare Private Limited which was established in 1989 in Bangalore. It is an Online and Printed journal which will be published once in bimonthly journal which provides an opportunity to publish case reports and case series and Letter to editor from different fields of medicine, surgical, dental, alternative medicine, sports and occupational fitness, integrated medicine, ethical, administrative and medical education. This journal is student friendly with a goal of inspiring the medical students as well as faculty to initiate case report writing which is known to be the first step in research.
Article type: Only Case reports/Case series/Letter to Editor are accepted.
Structure and scope of the journal:
Case reports/case series will be accepted under following headings:
ü Clinical
ü Paraclinical
ü Pre clinical
ü Alternative medicine
ü Ethical case
ü Educational cases
ü Administrative cases
ü Students section (for all case reports)
ü Sports and occupational fitness
ü Aesthetics
Editorial policy
The article submitted should be scientifically sound, with originality and uniqueness. A take home message should be placed in a separate box for the reader to understand the essence of the article.
Articles that lack adequate details will not be published. The decision of the editorial board will be final in regards to acceptance or rejection of the article. Modifications if suggested by the editorial board should be completed by the authors without which the article cannot be accepted for publication.
Once submitted, the decision of acceptance/rejection will be within 7 working days. If accepted, the request for modifications based on the reviewers inputs will be within 21 working days.
It is necessary that once accepted, article should not be published elsewhere in same form or languages without the permission of the editor.
How to submit
The required documents should be submitted are as follows(Attached with the email):
1. Final manuscript(without any identification details)
2. Covering letter cum copyright transfer letter
3. Checklist
The manuscript should be written as per journal guidelines.(As mentioned below)
Authorship criteria
All authors are requested to follow International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) https://www.icmje.org/recommendations/browse/publishing-and-editorial-issues/
Once submitted the order of authorship cannot be changed without written consent of all the contributors. The journal prescribes a maximum of four authors for case report and six authors for case series. The authors should provide due acknowledgement as required. Post publication, authorship cannot be changed.
Conflict of interest
It is necessary for the authors to declare any conflict of interest if any either financial or non financial in writing to the editor. The same should be mentioned in the manuscript too.(before acknowledgement under a separate heading- Conflict of Interest)
Plagiarism
It is the responsibility of the authors, especially the corresponding author to prohibit plagiarism in the manuscript.
Manuscript guidelines
1. Articles submitted should be original and innovative and should be written in English(American) language on the understanding that the work is unpublished and is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
2. The Journal publishes case reports and case series only. Manuscripts will be reviewed by members of the editorial board, whose opinions will form the basis of the final decision by the editor.
3. Manuscript should be checked by all the authors for spell check as well as plagiarism.
4. Please follow manuscript guidelines while publishing case report/series.
5. The format of the article should be following sequence:
a. Title
b. Abstract(Not more than 200 words)
c. Introduction
d. Case details
e. Discussion
f. References [ Not more then 12], as per Vancouver style and should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are cited in the text.
g. Key words(not more than 4)
h. Take home message (not more than 25 words)
i. Figures and or Tables(if any)
6. The number of words for case report/case series should not be more than 1500(excluding abstract, references and tables)
7. Citation should be given as per serial number i.e. 1,2,3…. etc as per its first citing. Also, the number should be superscript without any brackets.
8. The format should be submitted in word as well doc/docx.
9. Authors name: The author names as per sequence should be provided only in covering letter along with their designation, department and Institute name and its address.
10. Complete details i.e. Name, Designation, Address, Phone no(only for communication), Institute name and email address.
11. The pages should be numbered consecutively.
Publication fees:
Rs.999/-(Rupees Nine hundred and ninety nine only) will be the processing fees per article. The fees should be submitted only after the acceptance of the article for publication. The details of processing fees will be informed by email to the authors post acceptance.
